I cannot begin to explain how sick and tired I am of listening to people’s shit, especially on social media, whining about how hard their life is and what not. Wake up and smell the coffee! By nature, a day of the week literally can’t suck so
before you’re so quick to judge (and complain) stop and think about what’s causing you to not enjoy your day.
I don’t know about “the good ol’ days” but I have a sneaky suspicion that people didn’t whine nearly as much as they do today. I guess we have our own technological advances to blame in part for this sudden need and greed of our modern day people but in saying that, they shot rockets into space back in the day too.
For me, what it really comes down to is a person’s selfish need to be heard. I’m not referring to those that actually do need to be heard because they have a legitimate issue in their life. And in fact I feel sorry for them that their genuine cries for help can go unheard amongst all the other shit we hear about, especially on social media.
A day doesn’t go by where I don’t come across people complaining about how they’re so hard done by whether it be verbally or on social media. It pisses me off so much so that I either unfriend them on Facebook or at least block their updates.
Granted, some people’s updates about a shit part of their day (or their whole day) turned into a humorous anecdote is good and even worth sharing. The thing that person has done differently is, shared a bad experience in a funny way and ultimately helped another person by making them smile.
So if you’re just whining, and you’re not at least going to make a joke of it, then get off Facebook, stop tweeting your issues, don’t call me. Instead, put that time and effort into understanding the root cause of the issue and just deal with it. If you can’t do it alone, then sure, use social to raise awareness of the issue and even seek people’s help. But don’t just complain!
